Sorry, I know you’re not a morning person, but I felt you deserved a wake up call today.

It's fine. It's rather nice, actually. Before I became part of Team RWBY, I hadn't actually looked forward to my birthday since I was ten. I like that I'm relearning what that feels like.

[Whether there's coffee or not, Weiss does begin to properly wake up as she eats. (She just does so faster if there is.)]

[Ruby looks over the tray and gasps before disappearing and reappearing in a flurry of petals before she returns with the cup of coffee.]

I knew I forgot something!

[And she sits it on the tray.]

Ah, there we go. I wasn't going to bring it up, I didn't want to seem ungrateful, but that will go a long way towards pulling me away from sleep.

[Weiss gladly takes the cup and takes a long sip from it.]

Haha, oh, I understand. I made it, but I think I just forgot to put it on the tray.

Had an idea for what we could do today… that is, if you want to.

[Weiss finishes off her food, washing it down with the last of her coffee.]

Wanna investigate another portal world? Maybe we can find something cool like that Pokemon world!

I'd be glad to. I'll admit, the Ever After soured the idea at first, but the worlds we found offered a good counterargument.

Perfect! Yes, those worlds are so much better than what you told me.

Sounds like a plan.

[Despite the directions to take her time, it doesn't take long for Weiss to get dressed these days. A mental command to her nano-suit has her dress on, and a magical command to her brooch gives the matching jacket. So after a nice shower, that's exactly what she does before heading down.]

[Ruby can’t help as she chuckled at how quickly Weiss is before her. The stuff she helped find for her really helped it seemed!]

Excited, huh? Hope this date day goes wonderful, then!

[And she has another portal gun in her hand.]

Ready. Heading off into the unknown like this... I can only think that Grandfather would be proud.

I think he would. I’m sure my mom would be, too, about me…

[She kissed Weiss’ cheek before she hits a random set of coordinates. Once the portal comes up, Ruby blinks as she sees what’s offered - a dark forest with points of light from the canopy.]

Should we? Or try again?

If there's anything the Acres and the other world portals have taught me, it's that you can't really know what a new place is like before you see it in full. I say we go for at least a quick jaunt, but stick close enough to the portal that we can easily leave if we don't like it.

Right. If anything, it’s just a wrong choice.

[And Ruby’s the first to hop through… into a small stream.]

ACK!

And that's why I keep telling you to look down before you go through.

[Weiss can't entirely hide her amusement behind her scolding as she gracefully steps from glyph to glyph until she reaches dry land.]

[She chuckled a bit before she reached over to tug at Weiss’s dress. She knows she can easily balance herself and the nanosuit can help with that, so she probably would pull her into the stream.]

Going to assume you meant "wouldn't" there

[Weiss helps Ruby up with only a minimum of eye rolling, then sets her sights on the forest ahead.]

Now, what does this place have to offer?

[Once Ruby is out of the stream, she looks out a bit to see if anything seems interesting.]

A lot of trees, though they are… a bit off. Should we investigate?

We probably should. I'm slightly regretting not bringing Nia with us, she could tell us plenty about them with just a look. But I know she's busy running the apothecary, so I suppose we'll have to make do.

Yeah… if we keep this, next time.

[And Ruby marches onwards. As she does, she notices various bushes surrounding the trees. Small branches reach out to them, snagging their clothes.]

Not again! If I had a lien for every time I was grabbed by aggressive flora-!

[Weiss pauses as she slashes out with Myrtenaster.]

Well, I'd have two lien, but it is annoying that it's happened twice.

[And Ruby slashes with Crescent Rose]

I like touchy-feely, but on my terms! Ugh!

[And she stops and stops Weiss as she notices the path looking off.]

Ooh, trap holes!

[Weiss forms a glyph and two armored legs pop out.]

Want me to set one off and see what's down there?

That would be for the best, yes! Betcha there’s some spikes or maybe nasty vines!
